Race #1 to be sailed tonight - if any wind eventually arrives.

Even as an avid sailor, I must admit I have no idea how thiscat v tri battle is going to play out.

What's current betting saying ?

About to fire up, at last.............

The trimaran of Oracle Racing is favoured on the books, but I'm liking the look of the catamaran of Alinghi in these light conditions.
Carrying a lot less weight, and looks the goods in the preliminaries tonight.

I'm on at odds !

Nah, these yachts will burn off any of those power boats out there with them when they're geared up.
They'll do 30 - 40 kts !!!

Can do - in the optimum conditions.
In saying that though, even in 5 kts they'll do 20 !

Interestingly, they were just saying one of the problems they had in setting the races up was finding power boats for the race referees that could keep up with the racing boats.
