Selections
Race 1 : 5. Oravane ($5) 6. Time to Front ($5.50) 13. All Spirit ($7)
A very tough race to open proceedings and a big watch with the betting markey on all these runners. Breeding wide respect must be given to the Oratorios in any juvenile event and Oravane won a recent Larkhill trial in nice fashion and has drawn well so should run a good race. Probably the only horses I cant see winning are 1.2.10.
Race 2 : 7. Sloane Square ($4) 5. Sail Maker ($6) 4. Light That Smile ($10)
Sloane Square has run a couple of very good races recently and looks to be improved under the care of Darren McAuliffe. The two placings where after tough runs caught wide for the majority on the event. If the Blackfriars mare can find a more forward position in a race without much speed it should prove hard to beat. Sail Maker has disapointed in 4 career starts with the strong Adam Durrant stable. Heavily in the market last 3 starts the best effort was a well beaten 3rd at Ascot. This is certainly a drop in class so respect its chances. Outside claims to 1.6.8.and 10.
Race 3 : 6. Dark Money ($5.50) 2. Kalahahni ($7) 12. Rubitrove ($7.50)
One of the most open races on the card. Dark Money looks a promising type going on its handy effort when resuming in a new stable (Durrant) and finishing 4th behind Osmak. Suprisingly started favorite in that race which was definitely too short but is much better suited today especially with a hot tempo expected. Watch for any money for Kalahanhni which has been well supported in the past and resumes for Lindsay Smith. Other claims to 5.7.9 and a watch on the toppie Hatfull over from NSW and the first starter Gelsinga again in a strong betting stable.
Race 4 : 2. Field Commotion ($3.70) 3. Smart Twister ($6) 4. Henry Joseph ($7)
A moderate stayers race which should be run at a genuine enoguh clip with Field Commotion in the race. Loosk the horse to beat if it can coipe with the extra 200m. Most runners have some claims here with the exception of Gunrunner who looks a bit off these.
Race 5 : 12. Cyclone Bella ($6) 5. Nickeved ($6.50) 11. Ozcapades ($6.50)
Another very tough race. Always knew Cyclone Bella had the ability and no surprise when she dominated to win a maiden race leading all the way. Ben kennedy brings her down to 53kg here and a similar performance wouldnt surprise even with the step out to 1675m. Plenty of opposition however and other chances are 8.9.10.
