Chris Nelson’s passion for numbers, logic and statistics led him into the great challenge of the 'punt'.

His grandfather outlined the complexity and simplicity of punting from a early age and once the foundations were understood, he was well and truly hooked.

Discovering a day at the Perth Cup did his love for racing no harm either.

His passion for numbers and logic has also led him into his profession of a programmer and web developer.

Leaving Perth in 2004 to work for a financial firm in Melbourne and disliking not having access to the West Australian and other Perth racing news mediums, Chris came up with the concept of a Perth racing forum - now known as Perth Turf Talk.

He returned in 2008 and began the Perth Creative agency JuiceBox Creative, which now manages the web and visuals of Perth Turf Talk, as well as a host of other industry-related websites.

Although his role at Perth Turf Talk is mainly technical, Chris loves contributing to the industry and enjoys the sport at all levels.

He can also think of nothing better than a beer at Ascot on a Summer Saturday and is hoping this Summer he’ll be able to see one of his salute the judge.
